Hi there, Seeing as I get to do a bit of traveling by myself I thought I would try my wife's recommendation of http://www.couchsurfing.com. Interested to know if anybody else here at AVForums has tried it. Sounds like a great idea, so if anybody is interested, I have offered my couch on this site. Conceptually for those who can't or don't want to visit the link, it is basically a site where you put in your profile of where and who you are and offer up anything from a couch for people to crash on to a person to meet up with for a coffee when you are traveling. My wife was the first of us to sign up and some author from Seattle came and bunked over with us for one night. He was a top bloke and much interesting conversation followed. It seemed to me from the inference that many people will use couchsurfing instead of hotels even if cost is not an issue because you meet more people that way. Anyway, thought I would throw this one out there for information and thoughts.
