I will be leaving for university soon and id like some new stereo bookshelf type speakers to hook up to my pc/cd player to play mp3's/cd's/flac
unsure of my budget, id say up to £250 (500$)
Im not looking for PC speakers because ive been told that there are not many decent ones out there. Could anyone recommend me a custom set-up.
I am currently using logitech Z5500 digital 5.1 pc speakers but i will be losing them when i go to university
Could someone suggest what to get in terms of amp/speakers etc...

some of my sources at the moment are:
pioneer pd 4700 cd player (phono)
    JVC DVD player(optical/phono)
soundblaster audigy 2 ZS (3.5mm) (may scrap this)

*update* i'm liking the looks of the wharfedale diamond 9.1 speakers at £130

The Wharfedales are nice. You are going to need an amp to hook up to all your sources though. You can get some very nice second hand amps for less than £100 though.

If you want to replace the soundcard, many peoply recomend the m-audio 2496* for listening to music. You still need an amp to power your speakers though, unless you get some active speakers.

    *might not be right number
