    Hi all,

Has anyone got any thoughts on what type of speakers I can buy to replace my Missions (702e's 70c2 700's) my budget is around the £600 mark, I need a pair of fronts, rears and a centre.

All will be connected to my trusty Yammy A2 with an Aegis sub

    Thanks

    Taz.

£600 now eh Taz? You're a pushover mate ;) ! Why not go for £800?

I'd be tempted by a salivating look over the B&W website.

In all honesty no, not a chance... but it wouldn't stop me trying to find the bargain of the century (so far) to spend my money on.

I bought my speakers a bit at a time. It's what I always do. My speaker collection was gathered over about four months worth of casual saving. It was a bit mis-balanced in that period, but I have a speaker setup now that eclipses what my budget should have enabled me to buy all at once.

I'm of the opinion that you should stick to what you know... maybe go a bit higher up the Mission food chain, although I have said this before, and you may be tired of hearing it. Mission encompasses everything I want in a speaker, and if there is one piece of my setup I can see me being really stubborn about in the future, it's that my speakers come from a Mission factory.

Anythinig in particular caught your eye at all Taz?

It's not impossible that you might find a deal on some old B&W 600 S2 stock that is left over in the January sales ?? I agree that you'd probably want to stretch your £600 up a couple of hundred. You'll get much more for your money I'm sure.

you might be able to get the Definitive Technology Pro Cinema 80 speakers. Small, discrete and amazing. When set up properly these sound huge, dynamic and musical.

    You go for it Taz!

P.S. Your local Citizens Advice Bureau is the best place to go when up to your ears in debt.

    ReTrO,

What B&W's do you have in stock at the SG?

or what can you get hold of ?

I really dont want to go 'over the road' if you can get them for me and does that mean you will have to come and set them up for me if iI get them from SG:D

just putting you a beer in the fridge now!:D

We keep in stcok the 303, 601, LCR60 LCR3, ASW500 and a few custom install speakers.

We can get hold of any of the B&W speakers from the Cheap 300's to the nice new N800 Signatures.

I'll look forward to the beer!

    ;)

Just read all this Emma. tut tut.
Just how could he go and buy those speakers instead of whisking you away to a sun drenched tropical island? Romance is spontaneous, you can buy speakers any time.:D

No doubt he'll have something special for you in the near future.
I think we all here want to see him take you somewhere nice. He's got his new speakers now, tell us, where do you want to go????
Seychelles? Antigua? Thailand? Take your pick, we're all on your side. :D :D :D :D
Throw a nice diamond too. That never hurt.

General - I think you are right! - I am sure there must be something really special around the corner for me from him! Infact, the most special thing I have ever received has got to be being planned in his head as we speak, I'm sure! ;)

Giving up buying my X-Box for a couple of months so he can spend our money on B&W's can only mean that I love him to bits. How lucky he is. Every home cinema loving guy would die for a girlfriend like me !!

However, your comments have sparked an idea ....... a tropical island?...... a cosy log cottage in the mountains?..... ah no, how about a trip to Japan - home of the gadgets and games I love so much..... along with the same amount of money the B&W's are costing, purely for me to spend on technical marvels from the east......

I could, however, just save up all these little sacrifices, knowing that I can now buy nearly every new (and decent) game released for the Gamecube or PS2 for the next 12 months without him being able to moan at how much money I am spending !!

    Thanks General ! :)

    Emma (Mrs.Taz) :kisses:
