I want to upgrade my speakers. I live in japan and i have a choice of mainly japanese makers.

At the moment im using 2 Denons SC-A555SA-M as my mains, A Denon SC-C555SA as my center. Finaly Pioneer S-A3-LR as surrounds.

I reallise these speakers are all bookshelfs and only 100watts each but they have served me well.

I want to upgrade to 2 Tall boys as main (120watt up) A Decent center (120watt up) and use my current mains as surrounds.

As i said im limited to japanese makers. (not that they are bad or anything, just cant get speakers from the UK or other countries)

The makers i been looking at are Denon, Onkyo, Pioneer and Yamaha.

I've been thinking about the following speakers and was hopping you could tell me which ones are worth getting and which onse are best left alone.

Price isnt a huge issue, but I want to stick with the speakers i mention as they are easy to get where i live and are good enough for my Home theater.

I realize there may be much better speakers out there but im happy with what i have on offer here!

Anyway, here are the speakers i been looking at:

    Denon: SC-T777SA as mains, (120watt)
    Denon: SC-C777SA as center. (120watt)

    Yamaha: NS-8HX as mains (140watt)
    Yamaha: NS-C7HX as center (140watt)

    Onkyo: D-605C as center (150watt)
    Onkyo: D-605F as mains (150watt)

    Pioneer: S-A6CLⅡas center (160watt)
    Pioneer: S-A77TB as mains (160watt)

I know that wattage alone isnt enough but there are all good speakers.

One last point, the makers model number in japan may be different from what you are used to. Please look at the UK equivalent of these speakers.

Thank in advance for any help in choosing the right speakers for me.

One last point, the dont have to be in any particular order. ie 2 Main denons and a pioneers center for example is perfectly acceptable.

    :lease:

Sorry AML, I guess we're spoilt for choice here in the UK, but I've never considered listening to any of the speakers you mention.

Usual advice applies, you have to try and listen to them, only then will you know what makes the sound you like.

    Sorry, and good luck.

Why not see if you can get hold of the Quad series of speakers, you should be able to get these in Japan quite easily.
