Just got sky installed on monday.I got a horrible Grundig box,it dont look nice. Can you think of a way to get sky to swap boxes?
What sort of problem would warrent a box change.
I know its a bit fussy but the rest of my gear looks great.

A bit late I know but you should have gone to an independent authorised dealer and you could have picked which box you wanted.

You could make all sort of claims, random freezing requiring a reboot, channel jumping to sky news or interactive while using the up/down channel keys.
Even if they decide to swap the box you will not have any say in what they give you. At least it should be a new box and not a reconditioned one.

Dont bother about the looks, how does it perform?

The silver Sony VTX 760 (which I have) looks great.

Pity its picture resembles VHS recordings:(

    I loved my Grudig box

It had S-video but sadly it stoped working when I moved and now I have a horrid pace which doesnt

I use to send RGB to my TV and S-vid to my Amp.

Just make sure it's brand new and still packaged digibox, not saying SKY or the installer would pull anything:)

I'm very happy with my Grundig box, had it about a year now. I got the deal direct with Sky and was offered Amstrad, Grundig or Panasonic . I hadn't researched it, so all I knew was to not go for the Grundig :)

I'm being thick here but why are you outputting S-Vid to your amp? This is exposing my ignorance of home cinema but I can't for the life of me think why you'd want to output S-Vid to an amp!

D'oh! I meant "all i knew was not to go for the Amstrad" not the Grundig.

My excuse is it's Friday afternoon and I'm thinking of beer :)

They usually replace like for like, unless they can't get one for that day. Then it's an Amstrad which they always keep spare in the van - funny that!? At least that's what 2 intall' techs and a phone operator told me when I needed a replacement.

The current Amstrad model is one of the better digiboxes. Fast and reliable. Unlike the early models.

Nobody's mentioned the Panasonic box. The old was great the new one is even better and looks better too.
