Thats most of whats on Sky Movies isn't it?
Sounds not too dissimilar to The Horror Channel.
That's what I thought!
I'm looking forward to it... there's something about those "So bad they're good" films that appeals to me. The works of the Talented Mr. Wood in particular.
Or am I just sick?
Looks like Van Helsing will have a natural home then...
Thats what I though, how many times are they going to show Spider Baby. I think Father Dougal must be choosing the films for the channel.
FamilyGuy you @*%[email protected]*$!!!
That was my line!!!
Thank you very much...I'm here 'til Thursday...
Has it not occured to them to launch a "good movie" channel?
I don't think it's really practical for any broadcaster without a direct funding link to a major UK broadcaster (BBC, ITV, SKY etc) to launch a serious/good movie channel.
Even movies that have been on the open market for years will still command a very high price, that's assuming they can be bought individually and not in a bulk package as is the norm now.
i used to observe every new sky channel with some (admittely naive) expectation, sometime back. Now i have just given up, They seem to be on a mission to take over the world as supplier of the largest quantity of crap you could ever hope to see. Their satellite must be about ready for dropping back to earth under the weight.
Are the Film4 channels worth the subscription fee?
I've seen the adverts and they do have some really good films on, but does anybody who subscribes actually rate the channel.
This new channel has nothing to do with SKY though.
It's a project from an independent broadcaster who has purchased transponder capacity from SES/Eutelsat and will aquire an EPG slot from SKY in accordance with the OFCOM regulations and then broadcast FTA to western Europe.
There'll be lots of his patented snappy "[insert name of crap movie here] is the best film I've seen all year" one-liners that always manage to get on the poster of each new crap movie that comes along.
The guy knows no shame
If he likes it, you just know it blows
But they already have Sky Movies!
(insert painful laughter here)
If he says they are bad movies they will be realy good ones he always gets his reviews wrong.
My concern is that they won't show truly terrible movies, just bad ones.
That plus the majority of modern cinema.
