Reviews of the new Sigma lenses are coming on line, link below to the new 100-400 F5-6.3 OS Contemporary -
Sigma C 100-400 mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM review - Introduction - LensTip.com
Am considering chopping in my Canon 70-200 F4 IS L and 1.4x for one of these. Particularly as it s small (relatively), lightweight and costs about £800. The other alternatives are the big 150-600's or the expensive canon 100-400, looks like it is a good all rounder.
General comments from the review - optically looks pretty good, on a par with the Canon 100-400 IS L no less, looks pretty sharp wide open and 200mm seems to be the sweet spot. OS give approx. 4 stops. Max aperture a bit slow and AF also potentially a bit slow.
here's another - Sigma's new 100-400mm f/5-6.3 DG HSM OS Contemporary lens is small, fast, strong and very sharp - DIY Photography

Sigma 100-400mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM C Lens Image Quality
The digital picture has image comparison but no review yet, against the original canon 100-400 it seems to be sharper particularly wide open and holds it's own against the MkII. Compared to my 70-200 the Sigma holds it's own upto to 200mm and then is better once you add the 1.4x to my current lens.
Looks a useful lens if you can live with the slower aperture.
