my order is waiting on the delivery of the latest batch of denon 3800s into the country, and perhaps thier subsequent firmware upgrade...

anyone know if this shipment has arrived yet? it was due in December.

I have had my replacement player on order now since before xmas - I have recently been told that it should be coming direct from Hayden Labs to arrive late this week/early next

I too am hoping these are the latest models will all possible fixes both hardware and software.

I was told shipment would be arriving this week too.
Fingers crossed they arrive (and earlier problems are all sorted) :)

ahh, now I see where our kit is -
this was from our general chat forum.

Hayden Labs/Denon Break In
Hayden Labs/Denon Break In
Thought you I'd post this up. Taken from my local paper that is based in Chalfont St Peter where Hayden Labs are:

A reward of £10,000 is being offered after more than £400,000 worth of electronic equipment was stolen from a warehouse.
Since the raid in Chiltern Hill, off the A413, Chalfont St Peter, December 18, Hayden Laboratories Ltd staff are still none the wiser as to where the items of audio equipment, including amplifiers, DVD players, speakers, micro systems and CD players, have gone.
Managing director of the distribution company Mike O'Mahoney, said: "We've not had any further news so far.
"So I continue to appeal to anyone who may have seen anything suspicuious or has been offered any Denon equipment other than in retail or specialist shops to contact the police."

Anyone with information can contact Amersham police on 01494 465888.

Hope this is useful.

Explains an awful lot of delays.

When did it suddenly become funny to post racist sentiments on this forum?

Just a question.

I live in a caravan and did not take offence to that.

Hey! Nice post Desticado...perhaps you can air some of your stereotyped views on gays, blacks and women now.

Respect to you Posh Guy for having the sense to edit your post...see what even your fairly innocuous comments start off.

chill-out Ian...i think you made your point...your sort of "public flogging" doesn't exactly encourage new members to feel welcome on the forums...

Maybe a PM would have been a better way to make your point...all IMHO of course...

All settled, then back to the main subject.

I will be auditioning a DVD3800 tomorrow (against an Arcam DV88Plus) at Sevenoaks.

What serial number and/or firmware version should I look for to see if it is a final and trouble-free model?

thanks.

JasonJo,

I'm chilled, but if you're looking for a way to scare off new members from the forum then Desticados post is a pretty good way.

Personally I've got it in for people who buy gold AV gear for instance, but I like to keep my prejudices close to my chest..

There was a thread on this the other day... worth looking around for (try a keyword search on 'firmware')

Dont take it as a given but I think its x.x.x.34 for the arcam, but I could be wrong.

I try to regulate these forums as fairly as I can and I wouldn't, under normal circumstances, tollerate bad remarks about any social groups.
However, Gypsies moved (uninvited, of course) on to a private field which had been beautifully maintained for our radio modelling club to fly from.
They finally sodded off after several months, leaving the field totally trashed. The grass was dug up, set fire to, wheel-spinned on and fouled on by their dogs. And there were tons of rubbish left behind.
The most exasperating part for me is that when I first arrived to fly my plane - but couldn't, of course - the cheeky bastards asked me if I wanted my drive paved.
Sorry folks, but I hate Gypsies. But then who cares what I think?!

Gypsy Jake has 2000 DVDs, not all travelling people are the same, there are good and bad.
I have visited caravans and trailer parks, pristine decoration, beautiful ornaments and spotlessly clean.

Denon DVD-3800s with latest firmware and laser have not yet arrived in U.K. according to Hayden Labs, who refuse to accept Region 2 machines are affected anyway.
The latest firmware for Multi-Region / Pal-Progressive is apparently available in the price @ £799 from www.creative-audio.co.uk

So are you saying Stuart that we're not allowed to say anything bad about any social group, apart from gypsies, because of what they did to a piece of land?

Gypsy bashing over then guys?...good...back to the subject ;)

gringottsdirect - denon in denial? - surely not! :D ;)

Hopefully my replacement player, due in late this week/early next will be one of these. I think creative audio are pushing out the latest Dec firmware on their models - looks like a good deal for those that want to buy from the web rather than a local dealer (in light of the 3800 past history i would personally recommend people buy from a local dealer though (with a price match?) in the event of problems/returns and they can also upgrade firmware in the future)

saggio - for the latest firmware for the 3800 have a look at the numbers on my site: www.geocities.com/denon3800 this also has details on how to check firmware levels. Site also has rumoured info on serial numbers for likely players with new laser pickup.

Ian - gold AV gear *shudder* I would have to agree :D

Reading this post with much amusement after a tip off from Bonesy that his thread had been hilariously hi-jacked.

Anyway, a thought came to me: has anyone ever seen any black, lesbian gypsies?
