With a number of manufacturers just about to release new models I haven't seen any new on the new sharps models.

Can anyone give me some info on when they are due out or any feature notes? Pics etc?

would also love to get some info on the new sharps. got an aquos 26in in our bedroom and its awesome. gotta say i prefer the champagne look of my model over the new silver ones.

need a new tv for the living room and seriously looking at 40 series 50" fujitsu but would be interested to know if there is word of a new 45-50" sharp lcd and how it compares.

    cheers,

    julie

Be careful with those Fujitsu plasma's. They may use Alis panel technology. If they do, search the plasma forums to see if this technology would suit you or not. Basically, an Alis panel is effectively interlaced (although not quite in the traditional way), so a 1024x1024 panel would really only be 1024x512x2. The other thing to watch is how they fit 1080 lines into 1024 (in reality 540 lines into 512). If its anything like Hitachi, they just crop the top and bottom. Don't get me wrong, the Alis panel can give a very good picture, but its design compromises may work against you.

    Have a look here.

Upcoming products are in the bottom table.

The new LC-32GA6E, for example, is due in september

65" = whoohoo but way out of my price range :)

is the lc-45gd1e the replacement to the lc45g1xsys that we currently have in australia? if yes, when are they due for for release and what it the expected price? do either of these models have hdmi inputs?

    regards,

    julie

No, that is the current model here in the UK and does not have HDMI, but DVI.

The 42" Fujitsu is indeed an Alis panel, but the 50" is not - it comes either from Panasonic or Samsung, and has the usual Fuji magic worked on it. Saw it in Bristol and it was stunning (way better than the 42"). Probably the best 50" panel you can get at the moment.
