    Hi all,

I've been chatting to a guy at Campton and Moore in Sheffield and he said that the GA5 is replacing the GA3. The GA4 is up in the air and doesn't know whether it's being discontinued or not but he did say that Sharp are bringing out 'something' in February or March that, at the moment he knows nothing about.

    Anyone have any ideas ?

    Richie.

Unfortunately due to the unparallel success of our recent European Advertising Campaign demand for our Aquos LCD has increased so much that demand has outstripped supply of certain products. The GA32 series have been particularly popular due to the excellent feature mix and styling so unfortunately the product you wish to purchase has regretfully been in short supply.

Our Pan European Advertising campaigns are scheduled and prebooked many months prior to appearing so we were unaware of this situation when booking.

The GA5 model you have mentioned is due to replace the GA3/4 models but as you have noted it does not have side speakers or a DVI input which you say are important features for you. I have attached a comparison chart for you of the GA3/4 and GA5 models so you can see the differences between the sets.

Differences on GA5 come down to:
Single speaker unit below screen, NOT removable
    NO Tilt/Swivel Stand
    PC Connection RGB NOT DVI-I
Audio Amplifier 'Standard Aquos' NOT 1-bit Digital Amp
    FM Radio tuner included

Seems like you give up a lot for a radio!

Does this mean then, with SKY Hi Def coming that only Sharps top of the range too highly priced for general public LCD panel will be able to view them. The budget range will not as it wont have HDMI or DVI.

I think that Sharp willl need to get their fingers out and design a new GA range with DVI Sharpish ! (Chortle)

I hope they do, but I want HDMI and DVI, like their US models.

I know, I've been following the thread all the way, but it's the first time I've heard a supplier say that Sharp are bringing a new range of 'Something' out in February/March time and we're not talking about the GA5 here !
