New remote doesn't work over magic eye, but old ones do!

i've bought a new skyHD remote. It works fine in front of the sky box, but not over a magic eye. However the old remote still works over the magic eye, so doesn't seem to be a problem with the magic eye. Any thoughts? Any settings on the remote itself? Both remotes are rev9F
