Been holding out a purchase of a HDD\DVD recorder due to reports of new range of recorders looming from the 2 makes.

Can someone shed some light on exactly what's expected and when? Also if possible pricing is known that would be helpful.

Anyone seen\heard of similiar reports from pionner BTW?

    Cheers,

    NC.

Thanks. I guess we'll have to wait until June for the 510 to appear.

    What about Panasonic and Pioneer?

Just read the link about the new Sony models.
    No mention of Digital Tuner(s).
The release date for the 900 replacement seems to vary from March (some dealers), June (the above link) and September/October (Sony Centre shop literature).
    Further news awaited.

Lets not forget the new Toshiba machine too.
I guess the manufactures are holding out as the latest ranges are still relatively new.

Why not? It's available in every other major European country for the 1st time.

Here are AVLAND's "tentative" details for the HX510:

    http://www.avland.co.uk/sony/rdrhx510/rdrhx510.htm

If it's true, then what really disappoints me is this:

    o Built in Analogue Tuner

Why, Sony, why? At £400 I can't really see how it's worth the money when one can get a PVR with twin digital tuners and a half decent DVD recorder for around the same cost. Am I missing something here?
