Thanks , he has been really good for 3 months old , we got him a crate to sleep in and he has taken to it no problem , the only problem we are having is getting him to walk on a lead , just needs time though ....

Lovely puppy. It's got the typical head of a sight hound, ie, lurcher and the typical markings of a border collie.

Good enough for me and thank you , now I am wondering whether he is going to take the size of a lurched or the size of the collie , if indeed that's how it works

I always heard that you could tell the eventual size of a puppy by the size of his feet. Could be an old wives' tail...but those look like pretty large feet to me!

A collie x greyhound is what was known as a 'running dog', the speed of a greyhound with the stamina of the collie a dog that would work all day hunting in the country.

Lurchers come in all sizes from the smallest that would be a whippet cross to the larger dogs that could be greyhound or deerhound cross. If you have a whippet cross then the size of the collie might dominate, ie, about 24 inches at the shoulder, if the whippet is dominant then 18-20 inches. Difficult to tell off the feet as they tend to be very tight in lurchers. A better indication may be the tail. Just look at the length then ask yourself 'is he going to grow into that tail'.

Well you say it was half lurcher but that doesnt help as a lurcher is either a whippet or grey hound cross.

He could be mixed with a whippet therefore he may not be as big
