New flavour of PS-2 will be out in the UK shortly, in either +silver+ or black. Its the new low noise model with remote power on off, no ilink.

    Cheers,
    Neil.

Note that the new PS2 will be progressive scan capable too in DVD mode.

I take it you're joking, yeah?

Or Metroid Prime, or Resident Evil 0, or Monkey Ball 2, or Animal Crossing, or ...

I have barely touched my PS2 since I got the Gamecube.

I love Resi titles, that's one of the main reasons I bought my GC. That and the amazing 1st part Nintendo titles, oh and Monkey Ball. :)

To get back to the original topic the new PS2 model also features improved DVD playback and is compatible with R/RW's.
Also the progressive scan options have been improved.

Whether the UK version will be more expensive, as was the case in Japan, remains to be seen.

It will be £20 more expensive @ £180 due to the additional silver controller included.

Is Mario Golf out in the UK or only on import, not really one for import games due to being to lazy to sort it out.

According to What Video its's only going to be prog scan for NTSC not PAL. Does anyone have any more details/UK release dates or pictures?

    Thanks

I spoke to SCEE last week, and they're as clueless as us lot. The statement was made seemingly with little forethought or planning. I doubt it'll appear this month as promised. Their marketing dept. is still working furiously trying to shift as many eye-toys as possible right now.

Does anyone know anymore about the Prog Scan features? If the DVD playback is any good in PS this may be my standard DVD player for my Tosh 36ZD, as long as it supports NTSC ;)

I spotted some platinum silver PS2's in HMV in Reading yesterday. £169.95 with 2 silver controllers.
