Could anyone do me a very quick favour and tell me how much the A22 retailed for new? I have one of mine advertised and don't want to get my facts wrong.
Plus, did they change the remote for this model? My first one came with a black CR235 remote but the more recent one has a longer, thinner white one (don't know model number).
Thanks a lot for any input.

My A22 came with the long thin white controller. I've known Arcam to change remotes for things without making a point about it in the past though so I guess you just got the remote they were supplying at the time.

What are you replacing your A22 with?

Thanks a lot for the reply guys; I just advertised this as being a £1000-RRP amp but then had terrible doubts about whether I was correct.

I'm not actually replacing my present A22 with anything; I am very fond of it. I wanted a P25 to go with it and have found the used prices to be very high. I found an A22-P25 combo at a sensible price and now just want to move the second A22 on. As an aside, I am quite astonished at the impact of the P25 in a bi-amping setup. It transforms the whole sound at both the top and bottom ends.
    Thanks again

Can't resist another aside, which must ring bells out there. I tried for ages to be content with a one-box solution and graduated to a used, £2500-RRP Denon A1SE that is rated as great for stereo as well as 7.1. And it is good; a lot of authority and punch. Then I got an A22 for a second system and made the terrible mistake of testing them side-by-side (I could do this because I had two sets of Mission 754s). I've read all these posts about dedicated amps being so much better but was sure my ears wouldn't notice the difference. But sure enough, the A22 is in another class entirely and the Denon is gone, with the A22 linked to the pre-outs of a mid-range receiver. Then you read about bi-amping making another difference still and sure enough...:suicide:

Anyway I've had a lot of help from these forums and I'm genuinely grateful. It's costing a fortune but at least in the right direction  . But where will it end??

Have you considered a seperate pre-amp? Another worthwhile and expensive upgrade for you to think about!

And if you're going down that route, it'll only lead to 2 P1's per speaker... You know you wanna...

That's my plan! Although I think I'll have to start with just the one per speaker!
