New price for RD65 ?

I've recently contacted them (Themescene) and spelled out in very clear terms that if they don't cut the price down, the set will be obsolete very soon. Even at 3000 quid it is much higher than I was bargaining for - 2250 quid to be exact - but I don't even think 2250 is worth it! The thing doesn't play NTSC unless through a PC and in my house already my Playstation 2 is NTSC-J so that's out of the question - I buy all my gaming consoles in China and it's gonna be either Chinese or Japanese stock - this set is only worth about 2000 quid tops on a bad day.

You've just renewed my interest in getting it for 2000 so any other takers at that price? (Including Delivery) if I can manage to get them (Themescene) to beat it down THAT much?

Agree on the NTSC issue, I registered on their web site and heard nothing ! I would like to see one on demo before going for it. At the reduced price its getting interesting.... but if they cant be bothered to contact their customers...

I had a look at one of the Toshiba's this week, think it was the 48". Not really conclusive may take a look at the 52". Price good but....

Just noticed that these guys are doing the RD65 at over £1000 less than others, has the price been droped recently ?

Or am I missing something somewhere ? :)

Looka very good at that price. I don't give a rats A$$ about NTSC.

I might well buy myself one for crimbo.

Could still certainly be tempted by it at £2K. They have the screensizes completely wrong on this site stating that the RD50 is 45" and the RD65 50"

Incidentally I came across the Thomson DLP 50" (can't remember the model number off the top of my head) today - not bad for £1499. Aesthetically quite decent, probably second only to the Samsung SP50. The viewing angles were also not as bad as has been made out - and certainly no worse that I could see than any other DLP that was in the line up. Could say much about the pic quality in general as it was being fed a crappy rf feed - has a single HDMI and Single DVI port on the back in addition to the other usual connections.

Looks like all these DLP sets are dropping in price which means a load of replacements should be wth us soon.
