Anybody see the unbeatable.co.uk brochure in today's Sunday Times?

Has a number of new DVD players in it from the big names.

The Sony DVP-NS 305 replaces the DVP-NS300 and adds MP3, CD-R playback. Also is much slimmer.

The Toshiba SD220 replaces the 210, and looks to be completely restyled.

No mention on either Sony's site or Toshiba's today, so possibly Unbeatable have jumped the gun - I presume they are due to be announced in Q2 (tomorrow).

    Hello

I didn't see the add and have had a look around and can't seem to find anywhere that mentions the Sony player.

    :(

Did they mention an RRP for the DVP-NS305?

    Cheers

    Chris

Just browse the dvd's section and there's at least 6 new sony models due in may and june including some combined dvd/receivers and a sony dvd walkman.

Looks like the ns900 and 9000es are gonna stay.

    Hello to everyone,

Just a small tip. A very close relative of mine works inside SONY Europe and the good news is that from Sep. 2002 onwards the new NS-905 and NS-999 will come.
NS-905 will have progr. scan for NTSC, 12bit/108 Mhz DAC, will play MP3´s and much more.
NS-999ES will replace 9000ES, and will have PAL/NTSC progr. (!!!)scan and 14bit/108 Mhz DACs etc.
    That´s all.

Hmm, just ordered the NS900. I really don't need progressive scan as I don't have a projector (or HDTV) and MP3 playback is of no interest as well.

Do you think it would have any other major feature addition that would be worth waiting (and paying) for?

Another addition will be the 12bit/108 Mhz DAC (the 999ES will have 14bit/108 Mhz). Other than that, no, it will not have any other additions.

Regarding the Toshiba SD220 vs the SD210, it looks like the changes are merely cosmetic. Am I wrong?

    Regards.

Correct. We´ll have to wait till Sept. 02 to find out if this is the case.

models are out may-june. I asked why the 400 was not on display at sony centre leeds and they said it had been discontinued with the replacement 405 coming out in May.
