Do any of you lucky early adopters of PDP-434HDE's have any information as to whether Lip-Sync is a problem or not - Particularly from SKY Digital. The theory was that the digital processing of the R04 media box might sync it up before shoving it out the other end.

    What have you found ???

    Cheers

    Simon

I haven't encountered it until now, well until today evening, as I had it with one station (might be a problem on their site, as -I think- the voice was delayed and not the other way around.

I switched to other channels, they were OK. When I returned back to the original culprit it was still there (cable analog...)

I've only encountered it to any degree watching Goal On Sunday on Sky Sports 1 two weeks running. It was seriously terrible. Then I got my RGB scart to replace my cheapo Scart and it was a lot better if still suspiciously out of sync.

I had a 433 before the 434. It is definitely a far better product with lip synch...

You said that without moving your lips - Sorry.

With what source are you encountering problems? And is it across the board or only on certain channels?

If Pioneer have made any efforts to correct video lag on the new media box equipped model, it would only be able help out with the analogue stuff and DVD players connected via iLink. Anybody who has a separate audio system would probably be connecting the audio out from Sky+, DVD, etc directly to their amp and so there would be no opportunity for the screen to delay the audio. The only other ways the screen could help out would be to either do less picture processing or use faster processing algorithms and chipsets.

I think you're hoping for too much, Simon. Try to look at peoples chins when they are talking and you won't notice it so much ;)

    Andrew_B,

I think you're probably right about that but it's its lip sync via the speakers connected to the panel that I am most worried about as this is the way that my missis will be viewing it when I'm not around. I am getting he AX5 amp which has audio delay so for serious use I should be OK.

    Cheers

    Simon
