    Hi
I am allready following this forum for a while and every now and then sombody is talking about a new phospor for CRT's, higher contrast, more light output and that it will come soon!
I realy would like to know if it really is so good? has anybody seen it? is it allready available and if so is it affordable.

With CRT on the way out (though not in my house), presumably there has a been a need to renew development on phosphors to help overcome some of the inherent limitations with plasmas, so no reason why this cannot flow down to back to CRTs. It may be too much to expect that anyone will be making any new CRT tubes with new improved phosphors, but maybe that US company (VDC, TEI - I can't remember?) will be able to use it.

I recall Projectiondreams mentioning this a while ago, with the prospect of twice the light output. That would be an attractive option to stacking a second unit!

    What do you know?

You know guys, I always read that the only company that rebuilds tubes is VDC.

But I'm sure that Thomas Electronics do them as well - or is that the parent company?

    Anybody come across them?
