I am trying to find a 32" widescreen tv with a depth of no more than 500mm.
Does anybody have information as to whether the new Philips tvs are likely to fit the bill, or, if not, if any 32" widescreen is likely to be introduced in the near future that will ?

At the moment my only option appears to be plasma - v attractive but the wife will not sanction the £4k - £5K price tag !

I don't know. The newest high-definition LG.Philips Cybertube has a 120° deflection angle and is shorter than previous tubes.

Sounds too good to be true, and it is:
1.) They may not feel like using this tube in their Pixel Plus TV's.
2.) They're using all sorts of random tubes in their current range.

You can't really know until the sets are out. But, I think they'll be pretty much the same depth as the current sets.
