New PC Overheating Help

990xa-ud3, 965be, recycled drives and a 5570. problem is the cpu temps....55c IDLE!!

stock cooler, AS5. reseated, didn't help. TIM coverage fine. suggestions (other than DONT USE STOCK COOLER!) welcome

55C seems fine for a Phenom X4 965 Black with stock cooler, what's the load temperature and are you sure it's the CPU that's overheating?

Max temp is 62c according to Amd.

Try using speedfan, it usually gives you the best reading on temperature.
