Panasonic have two new progressive players out in may.
The DVD-S75EBS which is also a dvd-audio player for approx £170 retail, sadly it does not allow Pal prog out of the box but hopefully it will be modded by an online dealer. It does offer "selectable NTSC output for viewing 'all region' discs or Region 2 NTSC titles as well as pal system DVDs.
There is also the DVD-F65EBS 5 disc changer out in June but without the DVD-Audio feature.
Both players will also play DVD-Ram discs.

£160 for the DVD-S75 multi region has to be a bargain for DVD-Audio. Lets hope a firmware update to allow pal prog becomes available, I may be tempted to replace my Toshiba sd-510 then.

I ordered a Panny DVD player the DVD-S35 and it was delivered to me R2- but was advertised as Multiregion - I contacted AV-LAND - they said Panasonic will not allow them to mod these players - so all Panasonic Dvd players from AV-Land are R2 not as advertised Multiregion.

    Regards,

GJC, I don't suppose you've tried a ram disc in your s35? If not could you have a scan through the manual/menus for any mention of seamless playback. Thanks.

My E30 and my old Panasonic SAA-HE70 have the same sized fan on the back of them as do all the new Panasonic Recievers and DVD/DVD Recorders.

I suspect rather than shutting down when a certain operating temperature is reached the Fan kicks in to expel any heat.

the only difference in spec are

    • Hi-Mat Compatible
    • Progressive Scan on NTSC
    • 5.1 Channel Decoder
    • DVD audio playback

Don't know what Hi-Mat Compatible means mind you

Any reviews of the Panasonic players available?

Also, is the principal difference between the S35 and the S75 the multichannel decoding capabilities, as it seems that the audio and video decoders are the same in both players.

    Thanks

Thats somewhat concerning if AV-Land are advertising products incorrectly, which is blatantly illegal.

    s35 only does stereo dvd-audio.. while the s75 does full 5.1 dvd-audio.
