New Panasonic LCD connections

After much deliberation, I took the plunge on a Panasonic TX32LXD85 LCD at the weekend.

So I can get the best out of it - any advice on the best way to connect up to a standard Sky box and a Panasonic DVD recorder. I know the Skybox only has scart connections and the DVD recorder has a choice of scart or component (no HDMI). Any advice on the best configuration and quality of cables to buy would be appreciated.

SKY Settings (picture) RGB not PAL, 16:9 not 4:3. Use quality SCART cable, IXOS, QED, profigold etc.
DVD settings = 16:9 not 4:3 or some letterbox mode. Quality Scart or a Component cable + audio cable, set for component out and progressive.

Which would be best for connecting to the DVD, scart or component?

Also what is the best configuration as I always record off of SKY (due to poor reception via ariel)?
