I am considering a new Denon AVR 2803 as the next step in my A/V experience but notice availability of a second hand AVR 3802 on Ebay - currently bid at £261 (reserve not met).

Any views on older technology (but more power) v newer model please?

Tough call..... i wouldnt doubt that the 3802 would be the better performer...... but buying from ebay as opposed to new from a dealer is no something i would recommend if you arent reasonably kosher with things..... my preference is that I have someone to talk to about my problems......

2803 has a better processor & better features, the 3802 has slightly better poweramp channels.

The choice is yours, or so they say...

Thanks for the views guys - valid comments! There does seem to be an active 2nd hand trade within the forum which gives a degree of comfort perhaps if trading with like minded people. Mind you it is nice to open the box to something new and shiny!!!

Definately go for the 2803....I've had both and the processing of the 2803 is noticably better.
