    There are new drivers (1.46) now posted on Hauppauge's UK site for the Nova-T.
    They include clumsy support for digital text, so that is quite a
    step forward, but the text is all in a separate window, rather than integrated with the video.
    Fast channel switching etc. now appears to be standard, and the
    channel scan seemed to be a bit faster too.
    I'll see if I can update my tweaks for programme info to work with
    this new version soon.
    Having got the text working, I really can't understand why they didn't go the last step, and integrate it properly with the video;
    still maybe the next version.........

    Channel switching is much faster but picture resize is annoying.

    Any idea if this can be made to look more professional?

    If you buy some PVR software like WinDVR then you can use that to display the pictures from your hauppauge card and easily pause live programs.

    I was under the impression that 3rd party software was better than the bundled software. Running my standard WinTV card on fairly recent drivers I do get it occasionally freezing, so I'm a bit biased against it. A review of PVR cards and software that I've got in front of me says that although you can easily view and record tv manually, scheduling is a bit awkward.

    I'd rather pay a bit more for a more integrated and reliable package.

    freet14,

    Are you sure that WinDVR does work with WinTV NOVA-T?

    This TV card does apear to the system as network device (DVB-T transport stream) and I haven't heard of any other software package (apart the one supplied with the card) that would work with it.

    I think I've consfused the WinTV Nova-T with the WinTV PVR, but I'm sure the PVR model can be used with a separate program as I've seen a screenshot in a magazine.
