NEW: NAD launches MDC USB DSD upgrade module

I own an NAD C658 (and three Node 2is) and was initially excited to hear about this new USB MDC module. However, I was surprised to find that a sampling rate (24/192) appears in the specs for the MDC module. Does that suggest the MDC module has its own on board DAC and does not use the DAC built into the C658?

Considering the MDC module will cost as much as or considerably more than an excellent stand-alone USB-friendly DAC, can someone explain why I might want one? Apart from the convenience of having one additional input appear in the BluOS app, that is.
