    Hi Folks,

I just thought I'd take this opportunity to announce that I have been made a new Forum Moderator in the DVD Talk forums.

Many of you will already know me, but for those who may not, let me quickly introduce myself.

My name's Pooch, and I've been collecting DVD's for about 2.5 years now. My choice of films is eclectic, to say the least, ranging from animations like "Toy Story" and "A Bugs Life", via "Hard Boiled", "Runaway Train", "La Femme Nikita", "Run Lola Run", "Monty Python", to more extreme titles like "Cannibal Holocaust", "I Spit On Your Grave" and "Ilsa: She Wolf Of The SS".

Oh, and I also love most Japanese anime titles, and Dario Argento films as well! :p:

I'm 24 years old, which probably makes me one of the youngest Forum Mods... ever, I suspect! :D However, don't let my age fool you. I like to think I am intelligent, mature and will deal with any breaking of forum rules with discretion, and in a calm manner. (Does that make sense?! ) So, please don't think that I'm here to make your lives hell, because I won't.... honestly!

Anyway, I hope you will continue to make this forum the great place it has become to visit, and that everyone has fun here. :)

    Okay, take care all.

    Pooch

    Hi Again,

Well, this thread has been read 80+ times, but I've had no responses from any of you. Does this mean:-

    1) None of you have anything to say (positive or negative) about me?

    2) I'm already well know enough, to not need responses? Or,

    3) You all secretly hate me? :D

Just curious, that's all! No banning will take place, unless you mortally offend my pride! :D

    Storm,

Goto www.dvdpricecheck.co.uk and search on Macross Plus.

You'll find a few places mostly Australia and Canada but there is one place in the UK but it's nearly 2x the price.

    Cheers,
    R.

    MorrisB,

Cheers for the kind words! :)

Well, I don't know whether my posts are really the "voice of sanity" as you state, but I like to think I can always hold my own in any debate, without resorting to personal attacks, et al.

As for my nickname, there is a short story behind it, but I think I'm going to keep it a secret for awhile longer... just to keep you lot in suspense, if nothing more! :D

The only pooch in my dictionary (Collins 2nd edition) is a transatlantic slang word for dog.

The reference I used was from

    dictionary.com

    Which also lists dog.

I also think of some kind of hound, but that didn't sound quite as funny. :)

    Cheers

    HI,

Well, you are all welcome to try and guess how I came upon my nickname, but I can't offer you any prizes, with the exception of a CONGRATULATIONS message in this forum.

So, if any of you think you know why or how I choose "Pooch" as my monicker, then feel free to post. However, it isn't easy, unless you know me!

Oh, and to give you a start, here are a couple of quick clues:

    1) The name has nothing to do with dogs, canines or pooch's!

    2) The answer is partly related to an obscure cartoon character, seen on a certain company's menus.

Okay, now I leave the detective work to you folks!

    Good Luck,

    Pooch

    shaz,

Regarding easydvd in Australia, I ordered 2 dvd's on Sunday and received them today.

That's better than most uk distributers, I'll use them again no problem.
