More-or-less decided to buy Video Seven and then (1) heard that model is to be discontinued and (2) bought new PC PRO magazine which contained favourable mini-review of (just sub-1000 UKP) Acer 3201W. The suppliers quoted in PC PRO don't seem to know anything about it(!) ... I wonder if anyone here does.

    ShopAcer are supplying them: LINK

Seems like a nice enough unit!

ShopAcer are owned by CET(UK) - If you are going to buy one, my advice is to ring them up to order. And always try to get something thrown in for free (when i ordered my laptop from them i managed to get free next day delivery) Every little helps!

I saw it some weeks ago at a nearby store, where I wanted to have a look at the BenQ DV3250 (and others). My opinion: STAY AWAY! The display shows a permanent judder like you can see when playing NTSC-DVDs. All other LCDs were fed with the same signal and ran very smoothly compared to the Acer. I thought maybe the scaler or enhancers have problems with bad, lo-res TV signals. They were so kind to hook up a DVD-Player (DVI), but it didn't help - still a permanent judder.
In the german hifi-forum there is a big thread about the Acer. Some owners say they can live with this 'feature'. I find it very annoying. But that's my point of view. Please test it before you buy.

that's a really nice unit. pure value as they say. 32" widescreen HDReady.
Acer is far from a small brand and all equipment I've been using from them performs pretty well.

I found this model at under 850 pounds inc vat. Looks like pretty good deal to me.

still actually seeing what you buy is a good advice.
check your local retailer to see the unit and then buy it online ;)
