Where did you get confirmation on the price? I call CSE and they told it will not be available untill late December and they could not provide me with a price?

Xels mentioned it elsewhere, a couple of weeks ago. However since then, I understand there is some doubt over the price in the US now (was previously quoted at $4000), where its release has been delayed. Which is why CSE probably don't know as it looks like the price hasn't been fixed yet...

Doubt it'll be more than £3500 though...

Anyone know if it'll be release in two versions like it's big brother the MC8 - there is an MC8b that features balanced outputs ?

If it supported balanced outputs it could make a leap to the front of my short list...

The other proessor I'm looking at the the Arcam - which doensn't have balanced out.

Apparently not, I guess they're using that to keep some differences between the MC-8 and the MC-4.

I heard the Lexicon MC8b today round at MarkE19's and WOW what a processor the steering was lightning fast and yet so smooth aswell, if the new MC4 processor is anything like that then i could be tempted to move onto seperates.
Thanks for the Dem Mark Top Bloke :smashin:

    John :)

John, would you say it was superior to your Yamaha? If so , in what ways ?Is the speck superior on the MC-4,or is it just a scaled down version of the MC-8? Also what power amps did Mark have it coupled up to?(lots of questions! )

Dan yes the processing onboard the Lexicon was alot better than my Yamaha, the Z9 is good but the MC8b is nearly 6k so it should be, the sound is different but i would say it is alot more natural sounding
He has the Blue Sky's running with it and they are very good active speakers and it is amazeing how similar they sound to my M&K's.

    John :)

John, it was a pleasure to be able to show off for an hour or so.
Just 1 question though - where did you leave the £20 entrance fee?

Dan, all the talk I've seen about the MC-4 is saying that it uses exactly the same processing as the MC-8 but just has the zone 2 missing.

    Mark.

Mark,i am definitely going to keep a keen eye out for the MC-4,it seems like a great value buy, considering the Lex pedigree.Who uses zone 2 anyway? What about lex`s new integrated,is there any more word on it?

    Regards Dan :)

I use zone 2 as a recording loop. Other than that there is no way of getting an output to my CD recorder - handy for copying an LP to CD.

I've not seen the Lex integrated mentioned for a while now, but then again I've not been on their site either.

    Mark.

gotta sell in the classified forum mate, forum policy. just make sure you read the rules first. Perfectly alright to ask people how much you might be able to sell it for but everything else needs to be in the classifieds im afraid.

    Your MC-4 look's really smart.
How does it compare sonically with your MC-1?

    Haha

3 weeks ago I managed to get just about all my kit back to black apart from my Sky+ Box, and then I decided to sell my meridian DVD and when I tracked down a Philips 963, and then bought a Crystalio scaler in silver and now I have half and half again!!

I wish I could go all black again. so much better when it dissapears into the corner of the room.

Paying £3,500 ($6,510) for MC-4 is ridiculous. For almost the same amount of money you can buy good quality 2nd hand MC-12B V3.11 ($6,250), or MC-12 V4.00 (with Room EQ) for $7,000.

The UK price bares no relationship to massive decline in USD vs. GBP exchange rate (currently £1 = $1.86).

    Hi every one

I was at the northern sound and vision show last weekend and listened to MC4 and the RV8, both sound fantastic although the RV8 had the edge it sound closer to the MC8 but with the amps built in. So I bought the RV8.
