am I right in thinking we could start to see a new range of LCDs with sigma designs chips embedded? I quite like the fact of plugging my TV into the network and streaming content to it

Philips have produced TVs with ethernet ports that can stream media. I'm not sure which of their current models have it if any or which chips they use.

No decoding on the server side. The tv does all the decoding. The Philips does mpeg 1/2 and divx. Mp3/wav and Jpg/bmp.

The Philips accesses network drives that you can setup on the server side.

With the Sigma chip embedded it will be possible the TV to work as an extender for a Vista computer. Are there any rumors going around about which manufacture is busy with this ?
