Looking to help my Dad select a new Laptop (current one is a Dell with 512mb RAM and a 40gb HDD and its a bit slow).

He has a desk setup with printer, mouse, keyboard and monitor for long periods of use - and uses a docking station to easily connect the laptop to this kit.

Then he can easily release it and use it sat on the sofa browsing the web etc.

A quick wlak round PC World yesterday highlighted zero laptops on display with a docking station port. Asked (the admittedly clueless sounding) assisstant and was told "nobody makes PCs like that anymore".

I know this is not true as my new work laptop (HP Elitebook) has one, but they seem to cost £1000+ (god knows why).

Budget is around £400 mark.

Anyone help?

So via a simple single ISB connection to the laptop, these universal docks will allow the connection of a keyboard/mouse; monitor; and printer?

And cost less than £20?

Great.

Strange that the 'experts' at PC World did not mention this and let a possible sale walk away as a result.
