New laptop advice

Active Member
It's a long time since I've bought or even thought of buying a new laptop. My old hp has finally given up the ghost with a bust cpu and it's time for a new one. My only problem is my budget.

I'm after a bit of advice. I have a £250 max budget. I will be using it as a family computer so will only be used for basic tasks. I will not be doing any gaming on my new device so no issue there. I have no room for a desktop so has to be a laptop.

I've thought about a chromebook but really want windows.

I've done some looking around but was really after some advice or recommendations.
