I've known for a week or so now that JVC will have a new DVD recorder coming in November.
The model is MH300SE/BE (Silver/Black) and has HDD as well as HDMI with requisite upscaler.
Price is to be confirmed, but already on a couple of UK sites, it's showing at £370. It aslo does dual layer recording, so this is obviously a direct Sony HX910 (no mention of in-built Freeview) competitor, unless JVC UK decide to spec with DVB-T, in which case it'll go head to head with the HXD910 - the UK version.
160 GB drive and looks like it'll actually have RGB SCART in - about bloody time too. Is JVC giving us everything in these last designs before it turns out its BR Recorders later next year?
For that money - it's almost rude NOT to take one off their hands!

I,m waiting for specs/ performance/ reviews of this one..

Another interesting release is JVC DX5s, which is DVDR/HDD but with a miniDV drive as well, to play and record from camcorder tapes..That would be great! wonder how much it would cost. On US site, they are about $1400 ( so probably £800-900  )

    wait and see...
