I attended a AV show recently and saw that JVC was demoing a interesting new set which used a new technology they called D.I.S.T. This new pixel plus and DRC like technology allegedly produces a 1250i flicker free image (1500i for NTSC). I don’t know if it was material they where displaying or not but the image stroke me as being to processed or something. I asked the demo guy if the set can receive a progressive signal and to my surprise he said yes. I asked if it could take a PAL progressive signal and he said that it was the only signal it would take. What the hell, no 480p? I sure hope he didn’t know what he was talking about. All in all I’d say that this is set seems like one to look out for.
