So all those progams are crap because they're from the US? I think ye not! 24 is one of the best things on TV; very well produced and acted. Something which most British TV series just don't seem to have. Compare BBC's Strange to something like Oz, or Angel and you'll see what I mean.

To answer your question, though: I think I remember reading there is another series of Spooks and State of Play coming out. Both were very good.

While I'm here, you can add Angel and Carnivale to that list too.

great point crispy, what must I have been thinking

name one british show that comes close to the sopranos, csi, 24 etc

you can not because none do

UK broadcasters can only dream of the budgets, cast, crew, resources that are put into US shows

Edit - I must point out I was refering to US Drama TV not comedy

we make some fantastic 6 part comedy series here - Office, Phoenix nights, Peep show etc

We can not match the US Drama though what do we have

Casualty, Peak Practice, Heart Beat, Where the Heart is ....

    Total pants

Out of all the new shows you list, the one to watch is Nip/tuck....It's excellant (it's as good as the Sopranos/24)....we just finished season one here (Los Angeles)...it was the best show I've seen for a very long time....RE the OC, if you liked 90210, you'll like it. ER....I'm afraid they ran out of decent plot lines about two seasons ago

I liked the last season of E.R. true not up to previous seasons

    No I didn't like 90210 I think I will give it a miss then

Nip/Tuck is getting big publicity here my mrs recognised one of the characters from home and away which he must have been in over 10 years ago.

what happened to Boomtown didn't the second season start very well. I think the first season was superb

    Hi,

    A few miscellaneous points:

    1) I have watched a few mins of "Curb Your Enthusiasm", but I just didn't find it funny at all. Is it me not getting the show, or is it really just a bad show?!

    2) Have discovered that BBC2 were given the opportunity of showing "24: Day 3", from 2005, but they decided that it would be too late for the shows fans/viewers, so in all their wisdom, they have rejected the show! The pillocks!  It would have been better late, than not at all!

    3) Channel 4's annual ratings have dropped below 10 per cent, for the first time in 10 years! Maybe C4 staff will start to get the message about the way they treat fans of their shows in general, and also about bringing us even more reality TV drivel like "Shattered"! :lesson: Well done to all C4 viewers for finally deciding to take their viewing elsewhere.

    4) C4 has decided to restart "Friends" again, right from the very first episode of Season 1. It will run both weekdays at 7:30am, and re-start another repeat run every Saturday morning, around 10:30am. How much longer will they keep repeating it?! :boring:

    5) Anyone catch the amazing "The Real CSI" on Five last night?! Superb 30-minute documentary about real CSI investigators in Las Vegas. Last night was episode 1 of a 6 part series, airing every Tuesday night at 11pm! Be warned, though: it's pretty disturbing stuff! If you are squeamish, seeing genuine bullet wounds and dead bodies, may not be your cup of tea. Throughly good show, though!

    6) Lastly, Five is repeating all of "The Shield" Season 2 from Friday 16th Jan, late night, uncut and in widescreen.

    1) not seen it. Saw a clip in the best 100 tv moments that was superb. I messed up my sky+ recording and it wiped the whole second season recording :(

    2) I am pleased they are not wasting my licence fee. 2005! come on any that bothered will get sky or buy the dvd. The viewing figures were not that fantastic for S2 and they would have had to pay a lot of money even for this deal.

    3) only watched shattered tonight ok, bubblegum TV. True C4 made some bad decisions of late

    4) at 7:30 does it matter? they have the rights, cheap tv for them. Better than that rise crap.

    5) didn't see it

    6) great new, thanks for the info

    Hi,

Ooops! My mistake. Sorry folks. "The Shield" episodes are in fact:

    - due to start TONIGHT (9th Jan 2004) at 23:10 hours, and
    - will be Season 1, Episode 1 onwards, NOT Season 2 repeats, as I previously thought.

Season 1, Episode 1 - airs tonight with "Pilot"
Season 1, Episode 2 - airs next Friday (16th Jan) with "Our Gang"

    Apologies for any confusion. :(
