I'm building a new house and I would like to prepare one room for Ceiling mount Projector. The maximum distance between Projector and Screen can be 4 meter.

I'm still not looking for projectors but I would like to precable it with the appropiate cables. I will mainly use it for DVD, TV and maybe laptop connection...

I read about HDMI becoming the connection of the future, and I was thinking in HDMI and USB cable.

Does HDMI cover all the applications?

The distance for this cable will be between 8 to 10 meter.

Can HDMI and USB reach this distances?

    Your comments are welcomed!

    Thanks for your help!

    Regards, David

If it's possible, I would put in something like a wavan pipe with a couple of pull lines. You can pull cables though later and you should have a future proof system in place.

What do you want USB for?

Yep to HDMI and need a power supply and component?

PS If you are into techy stuff put ethernet cat 5e/6 cable around your house.
