Any news on a UK release date/price?
INDEED. But the price Anyone knows ? Nice design also.
I too have been eagerly waiting for these. I saw them on display in Tokyo back in Jan and they do look quite nice. They will be bringing out 4 models I think, 42" and 50". The top range model of each size will have a built-in hard drive and I think also an Ethernet port?? Could be useful...
micol i think its the wooo 8000 series from hitachi that has the built in hard drive , the 42pd9700 only has an extra usb port and sd slot
i emailed hitachi in the uk and they dont have any dates yet
John lewis price for 9700 is £2395 at the moment but we have none so thats a starter price!
42PD7500 John Lewis £2095
42PD7500 RicherSounds £1599
42PD9700 John Lewis £2395
42PD9700 RicherSounds £1899
Better than the PX60??? AND a hard drive????
More lines than the PX60...hard drive is on a different model I think...again see here:
Is it possible that the 9700 could be better than the Panny PX60?
Wow, so looking at the specs, this TV will be able to display 1080p won't it?
This is well worth holding out for!!
Not native, it's an interlaced panel. This TV will shine with 1080i material, although it still has to downscale horizontally.
With 720p, i think Panasonic/Pioneer etc. have the edge.
New Alis panel 1024x1080.How good are these for displaying pc resolutions?
Separate names with a comma.
