    Hi

when is PS3 due out as it would seem that games like GT4 and the new McCrae have pushed existing H/W past its limit.

Wouldnt a console with exchangeable video boards be sensible? - so as video processing evolves between main h/w upgades, the boards can be kept up to date at least?

What is envisaged PS3 spec (only interested in upgrades in graphics capability - not on-line gaming) -- love simulators - cant wait for a 'Holodeck!!'

I am perfectly willing to go that route if Sony cant see the sense in video upgrades...

genuinely what spec of pc and card would be significantly better at rendering simulators such as Coin McCrae, GT4 and GP?

Consoles would be much more expensive than they are currently if they were upgradeable. The upgrades would also get more and more frequent too, and would get expensive. There is also the fact that the hardware in a console is integrated altogether for the most part, to reduce cost, so basically the answer is a big no :)

    Yikes

I thought it would be this year!

PCs and graphics cards get faster every few months, yet 'leading edge' graphics machines (games consoles) with huge revenues appear to come out twice decadely at best?!!

I think a ps2 has a 200mhz processor, and it's not difficult for a pc bought in the last 2 years to look far better than anything on ps2. Most modern pcs can produce graphics that look better than most or all xbox stuff too.

I know its all been said b4 but games consoles are just easier to set up with your tv etc, games are easier to load and u get to play em in living room rather stuck up in bedroom or study etc.

Just to name a few advantages also a decent PC cost 10 times the cost of PS2 or Xbox
