I’ve come up with this on cyber powers website. Has anyone used them before or rexxomend another company?

I don’t know if I’m missing something obvious or if I should change something out so if anybody has the time to read through this brick wall and give advice that would be great. It’s £1580 +vat thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum!

First thing I'd suggest is a larger SSD. With COD taking up 170GB, with Windows that 500GB will quickly disappear.

Ok thanks. Do I chose where I install things these days I assume. The last one I had was for the original COD and everything just went on a normal hard drive.
I already increased this and the standard hard drive. Should I lower the 4tb and increase the ssd or just increase the ssd anyway.

I was going to say that was one of the worst value pre-builts I have seen until I saw that a monitor was included. For £1,580+VAT = £1,896 it still looks poor value.

For gaming and (small amount) of video editing I would go for a 3700X and get a 2080 Super. I would also say you should only need 16GB RAM.

I also think you need a 1440p monitor to take advantage of the high specs too and not just a 1080p jobbie.

Anyway, I plugged a spec into PC Specialists and think this is a better balance:

thanks for taking the time to do that. I went with the 32gb ram as when I was editing 4K GoPro footage on an 8gb ram pc it was horrible. My understanding was that this was poweringmost of it but unsure.

what monitor do you think I should look at. I wanted a 27inch. Thanks

Doubt the RAM will make a difference with the Go Pro footage. H265 encoded footage is a PITA for any editing rig and the smart thing to do is to transcode it. I agree with the above comment, lower the spec of the CPU and put the funds towards the GPU.

  • I found this at a similar price to the other but it’s the 2070 not the 2080 But looks like the other parts are better Any one know much about the difference of the 2 cards

The memory in either of the listings isn't particularly strong, I'd say (2400mhz). I'd echo the above 3700X recommendation, but paired with either 16Gb or 32Gb 3200mhz (or higher) DDR4. I have the same CPU if this helps.

so I wanna go faster than the 2.4ghz on the memory?

I bought a CyberPower PC, which I still have. The cable management was an absolute joke. Also, when I decided I might sell it, I contacted them to see about transferring the warranty. They said I couldn’t, which both surprised and disappointed me. Since then, I’ve discovered that they have something of a poor reputation for using cheap components. I would not use them again, personally.

Next time I buy a PC, I shall probably use Chillblast, who have a stellar reputation, but are also considerably more expensive.

I definitely wouldn't go Intel. Just not strong enough as all rounders against Ryzen.

As a rule of thumb, for gaming, the GPU is most important and getting the best for your budget is my recommendation The RTX 2080 Super is about 15-20% faster than the very good 2070 Super.

Also echo the view about the RAM and Cyberpower. Plenty of better companies out there like Chillblast, Dino PC and PC Specialists.

The ram is actually a free upgrade to 3200mhz. I assume that makes it acceptable. I’ll check out the other sites today and see what we look like.
