Bored of FEAR & COD2 now, any interesting new FPS games on the NEAR horizon?

Saw UberSoldier on the coming soon section at www.play.com today; anyone know if this is likely to be any good?

Try the demo, it's available at www.gamershell.com , I've not tried it myself so can't comment on it.
If you're looking for something to pass the time, I recommend Bloodrayne2. I've recently completed it and enjoyed it. It doesn't take itself to seriously and can be quite a laugh.
On the not-so-near horizon, the new Battlefield 2142 game looks like it's got potential to be better then BF2.

i dont see that happening for auite a while yet. the main thing about bf2 is its realism. walking tanks and the like are just plain sci-fi.
being honest i thought this bf2142 was a joke or a mod for bf2 but it appears not to be as its on the EA site now. it does look good though.

@ the OP, if youve not played battlefield 2 yet, you really do owe it to yourself to experience it online as its head and shoulders above anything for MP gaming imho ofcourse

Isn't the Half Life 2 expanasion pack out soon - Episode 1 or whatever it's called now? Likewise Sin Episodes. Failing that Condemned is out next month which is a decent enough game albeit not really a 'shooter' and Oblivion is going to worth a look.

In the longer term Prey (June - yeah right!), UT2007 (October) and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars (October) are all inbound.

It was an enjoyable game: first person perspective but instead of having mostly having guns your weapons are things you rip off the walls. It's not graphically amazing and some elements look 'dated' when compared to modern FPS, i.e. many boxes/crates are unbreakable. But nevertheless it can be scary. I intend to buy it again so I can properly enjoy it without the frustration of trying to use a gamepad!

Elder scrolls 4 is technically an FPS.

Do you like RTS games? Battle for middle earth II is out now, looks cracking, haven't seen any reviews yet though.

There's a review here on Eurogamer. It also got a decent review in this month's PC Gamer.

Also you might like to try SWAT 4 if you like FPS's. An expansion pack has just come out for it. Eurogamer review here.
