I'm currently playing Dead Space 2, after finishing DS1 on impossible this morning.
I'd played DS2 a couple of times before, but it's been a while.
Anyway, I loaded up a New Game+ with the knowledge that I'd have my weapons, equipment and upgrades from any previous play throughs.
I'm not sure if my starting inventory was a result of a previous DS2 play through or something to do with DS1 as it looked very similar to how that game ended.
My point is, and this is in no way a complaint, does it seem as though games are getting easier in some respects, what with these NG+ modes that allow you to carry over everything from a previous play through, and use them on a higher difficulty.
Because, getting back to DS2 which I'm playing on zealot, I'm not finding things too difficult as I have a lot of ammo, all weapons upgraded and tones of cash.
Meaning anything I pick up during this play through is just topping up the huge stash I already have, without me really eating into it due to fully upgraded weapons.
Personally I'm a little ambivalent too the situation.
On one hand I like how I can almost breeze though as though I'm on a lower difficulty and still enjoy the game, but there is a small part of me that is missing a little of the challenge I felt from the original games impossible mode, even though it was rather frustrating at times.
What are peoples thoughts on New Game+ modes in games?
Do you love or hate them?
Are they something you'd like to see in more games, or would you rather start higher difficulties with nothing and build it all up again?
