Hi all, new here and 1st post!

I'm looking to build a new home cinema setup bit by bit. First is the DVD player, I'm keen to get a progressive scan unit as I understand that sonys new CRT TV's, due september, will be 100Hz progressive units -NTSC and/or PAL ????

So what player should I get now for max compatability?

The Denon DV2800 cannot (ever?) do PAL progressive?
Can the Arcam FMJ DV27 do both? Unofficially? Could there be issues down the line?

And last but not least which progressive should you go for!? 480p,720p e.t.c.

Might a decent cheap player (Tosh210) be a better call right now?

Sorry to go on! Hope someone can shed some light!?

    Matt

Yep, the Denon does PAL progressive if the hacked firmware is used (which also provides multi-region playback etc). Do a search on the internet and you'll find it eventually. I'm sure there was also a link given in this forum some time ago, so do a search here as well.
    Regards
    Paul

No but then there aren't any TVs which can accept a progressive scan input.
You'll need a projector. The £1500 Panasonic is currently very popular.
