http://www.homecinemachoice.com/cgi-bin/shownews.php?id=7492:

3 year warranty, more processing modes, blah, blah, blah...

Crucially: HDCP HDTV via DVI 1080i and 720p (no mention of 50Hz). Though does mention 'future-proofing their plasma screens for BSKYB's HD TV launch'!

Still 1024 x 1024 ALiS panels, though, in the 42" (£3,595) - the 50" (£4,995) is 1366 x 768.

We'll see what they're like at Bristol, I guess...

The US models have both HDMi *and* DVI inputs, looks like once again Europe is going to get a stripped down version here...

Yup... and why they bother with an internal tuner on a HDTV is a bit beyond me. Oh well, at least it's another relatively future-proof option (assuming the HD works at 50Hz, that is).

The specs for the 42" and the 50" are so different they might as well be from 2 different manufacturers (and they probably are): 1024x1024 vs 1366 x 768, 1000:1 contrast vs 3000:1...

Seem to remember having read on another forum/site that these new Fuji's are indeed fully compatible with 50Hz HDTV. Doesn't mean an actual demo of this capability isn't required here, or does it...?

They will be 50Hz, the guys at fujitsu have been splitting their sides over the sky furore. The Alis glass is an in house job, the 50" is Panasonic based.

Wonder how much overscan, tearing, horizontal shift to the left, and vertical stretch will the picture have on these new Fuji's with a 720p50 video input signal...
<that's what I meant by "an actual test is still needed">
