I'm moving to an area with poor freeview reception so will probably have to go to freesat. Humax seem to be the only game in town, are there others I'm missing? Is there any hints on an updated freesat box after the HDR-1100S? It seems pretty old (I see reviews of it in 2015) and it has no youview option.

You've listed your location as being 'Bangkok'... You wont be able to receive Freesat from over there!

If you checkout freesat.co.uk there is a ageing news post announcing a third Gen 4K unit in 2019.
No updates since, so wait and see.

Currently I would go for the HDR-1100S as works well and the new G3 unit will be pricy I think.

Some tv's have inbuilt Freesat, I use LG b7.

Indeed... I access (DVB-S/S2) satellite television on my LG television too.

I've even remapped all the channel numbers so they match Sky's EPG instead of Freesat's nonsensical numbering system...

So you think Sky's is logical?
Sadly none of DVB platforms offer very "logical" numbering systems. But I prefer how Sky have moved their +1 entertainment channels to numbers beginning with 2, which I can 'skip' (hide) within the televisions programme number list...
