    Hi

This is for anyone that has an Elta 8883 DVd player.

Elta have posted new firmware with the following changlog.

    Update from 07.05.04:

    Version: 05.00.03.05
    Sub Version: 00.00.00.01
    8032 05.00.03.05
    Servo: 01.05.01.00
    RISC: 05.00.03.05
    DSP: 03.03.00.95

    - DivX subtitle support (srt, smi), only English language
    - OSD languages had to be changed to German, Enlish and Italian due to lack of memory.
    - (S)VCD on CD-RW is now playing smoothly without artefacts
    - Timecode is no longer displayed when playing AVI
    - Zoom factor disappears automatically when Zoom button is pressed

I haven't tried it yet, but it post again once I have upgraded to confirm whether all is well.

Just to confirm. I have now applied this update and eveything seems fine.

I haven't actually tried out subtitles, but the time display is definitely gone when playing MPEG4 files.

Ive just ordered a H&B DX3220 DivX/DVD player. I know that a FW upgrade will be needed but i'm not sure how to do it.

How do you enter the FW upgrade info?

Most of these players have firmware that you burn to a CD.

Then you put the CD in the player and it automatically upgrades itself.

Make sure you only use firmware specifically designed for the exact make and model of your player.

Installed the firmware on to my Elta. Subtitle support at last, and it seems to work fine.

Shin Gouki, you have to download a file, check out the dvd player manufacturers website for the file. Or Try the forums on doom9.
