NEW firmware for Denon 1940

There is a firmware update available for the Denon 1940 here

Yes my Denon DVD-1940 is a EU model. and the color is silver

My is a 1.02 region 0

What happens about the region 0 status?
I believe the machine was made region free via a firmware update. If a new firmware was installed would it have to be made region free again?

I dont know... As new my play was born 1.02 region 2 and i fund the 1.02 region 0 firmware on a forum

I'll have a go this evening (UK time). I am at work at the moment so cant find out what my serial number is.

Ok I try my Serial nr. and the color and model nr. and its says my serial nr. not is correct

I havn't actually tried to download this new firmware yet. I was just curious if anyone else had. I also wonder whats its changed

My serial number didnt work either. I have posted a support request on the Denon UK site and I will let you know if I get a response.

Because for months Iv been checking the firmware update site and the 1940 hasn't even been in the list! The 1940 has only just appeared in the list so I would assume it has updated firmware.

Hmm my dvd player is only 14 days old and i was born with F/W 1.02 Region 2. and i flash it with firmware 1.02 Region 0 so mayby my DVD 1940 got the newste F/W????

1.02 is the original firmware version

I received my firmware upgrade from denon via a disc (problems was juddering with a Samsung LE46) however this did not resolve the problem, it also stopped the m/c being multi-region. I spoke to denon earlier this week and they have asked me to swap for a new player with the dealer i purchased it from - if this does not resolve the issue i have been asked to let them know!

MJan: sorry to be off topic but i noticed you have also denon 700ae cd player just want to know if the cd playback of the 1940 is as good as the 700ae? cheers

The sound of 700ae is much better. But 1940 is a ok cd play but 700ae is much better
