Hi all,

Thought I would post some pics of my extension as it progresses. We actually started it in August and it should all be finished by mid Jan (fingers crossed!). We knocked down the smallish garden room, ready for a bigger garden room, with vaulted ceiling. Anyway, I'll be installing some Panasonic kit in the next week or two in the main garden room.

Here it is before we started and a couple from the follow ing weeks (back when it was sunny!), with the foundations dug and breeze blocks going up.

French doors went in couple of weeks ago and the photo of the wall with the small window lying on floor, is where the TV will go. This wall is still damp as the leading isn't done yet above and the rain has been virually none stop or ages here! I bought a wall bracket from m-form (great service by the way) and cables from UKDHMI (also great service). The cables will be chased into the wall with trunking, ready for the plasterer in a week or two.

Thats a rather large extension you've got going on there, looks very impressive. Good luck with the internal work. Do you have any floor plans for the old and new foot print of the building.

Ahh the downstairs loo, the perfect companion to any AV emporium. I too will be blessed with one of them thursday when I get the keys off the builders.

Sparky has been today and yesterday and is a fantastic worker. Almost all the cabling and sockets done in the garden room. Power and coaxial aerial for the TV ready. Underfloor heating arrived and ready for to sit in the red trays.

Sorry for the delay in posting any updates! Here are the latest photos. Insulation put in for the vaulted ceiling and the plumber has started his pipework etc. The boiler is still fluing into the room, hence the condensation everywhere! I'll be getting it moved into the downstairs loo out of the way in the next day or so and fluing outside properly. TV and surround system arrived last Friday and still in boxes out of the way. I've also been looking at my m-form wall bracket and scratching my head as to how it all works, but I'm sure it will come together in the end!

I agree, gives the room character and more interesting on the eye, plus im sure the higher ceiling also makes the room feel bigger than it really is.

The TV and Blu ray surround sound system - safely tucked away, well as safe as you can tuck away a 42" TV. Most of the work is upstairs in my daughters new room at the moment, so no real downstairs pics to update you with. Hopefully more at the end of the week.

Those SCBT200 system are really good, I would say i like selling them, but they really sell them selves.

Good choice in equipment, cant wait to see the final pictures.

Looking good. I'm very interested in the cost of the build. I'm looking at the feasibility of the same sort of job and trying to get a ballpark figure for a budget to work to. Feel free to PM if you don't want to put it in public.

Hi there Steve,

First of all I would like to thank for the comment in my post :) It's a really good feeling having someone talking about what we do :)

In your case, it's something really bigger! It's a huge project that I'm not used to see here in Portugal.

It's getting nice adjustements and a good set-up :)

Looking forward for more pics!

Good job,

Lipe

Thanks Lipe, I'll get there in the end!!

Here are some update photos. Coax and trunking in place ready for cabling. Just waiting on the plasterer coming in next week, followed by the dreaded painting!!

Sorry for the lack of photos! Plasterers have finished the room now and all left for me to begin a mammoth painting period - all that space to cover :(

Anyway, the sparky is in New Zealand so no movement on the lights, but the plumber has been hard at work in the downstairs loo!

A few more pics. Most of the action has been taking place (ahem!) upstairs in the new bathroom, so progress has been slow in the new garden/TV room. Anyway, we have lightning and heat from the underfloor heating - which is absoutley fantastic! More painting needed and some woodwork, then new wooden flooring, but soon the room will be ready.

Thanks for looking!

Only joking. It's looking absolutely fabulous, dead jealous. I too would love to know rough costs if you don't mind PM'ing. Understand if you don't.

Anyway, post more pics
