Having looked through almost all of the great builds on here I thought it might be about time to share mine.....also gives me something to do during lockdown!!

Last year we decided that rather than move to a bigger house we would pull down our old conservatory and put a proper extension on the house- with the proviso that I could (finally) install a proper projector based lounge cinema. I was able to have wiring put in place while the house was being built originally so was able to have a half decent system: B&W MT30, Denon 3300 and 50” Panasonic plasma (got to start them young with the F1!!)

(Apologies for the dodgy slipper)

Looking great, subscribed

Looks like you’ll have a couple bricklayers in the family before long!

House pre-conservatory (and before we even moved in!):

Can't find any pictures of the offending conservatory so we'll skip straight to the (almost) finished product:

Thanks - they were allowed just the one brick each otherwise I'm not sure it would still be standing!!

Reminds me of our extension build in 2018, is yours 3m out to external wall for no planning permission? it looks bigger, ours internally is 2.7x5m or so, very happy with it and its a cinema/play room/garden room when bi-folds are open in summer!
I went for integrated blinds in bi-folds look neat but don't fully block out light and take for ever to fully wind open. You are gona need curtains or roller blinds with a projector?

We’re about 3.5m from the back wall - no permitted development in our area unfortunately so had to get full planning. Loads of headaches with the foundations but got there in the end! I think we ended up around 5m x 3m (give or take) internally...still need to sort the garden out though! Loving the bi-folds in the current weather, lockdown or not!

Ahh i see, yeah i was gona push it out a bit, but bet they would of measured it then! We had to build over drains that serve 2 other houses, we are only house in area thats has pipes going through back garden. We had to bridge over them was down so deep over 2m in the end, luckily I do structural drawings for my job so was able to model in 3D and building control and builder could then agree it all.
Your speaker set up looks excellent!
Bi-folds are cool, yeah we went with artificial grass after as grass was so mashed up to!

I had it all my head so a dodgy Visio diagram was pretty much all my builder had to go on! Can't convince SWMBO to go artificial so speaking to gardeners at the minute to get it back in shape.....

Very awesome, one day I need a projector set up! is that a 100" screen?
I have to say artificial grass so far after over a year for us has been great. Only needs occasional sweeping and we are lucky not to many trees around to drop stuff on to. It drains and dries really fast, looks good. We recently got an inflatable hot tub to and its fine on that, plus no mud etc to get in hot tub! We have a join in ours most do though ours is pretty visible and was not done the best so see who local that is good and experienced at.

Thanks - it’s a 106” Spitfire AT screen, pretty much the largest I could get into the space.
Still waiting on quotes for the lawn but almost guaranteed SWMBO won’t let me go down the Astro route......
