    Kiss dp 550 to be launched in june,has digital imputs both in and out it olso has component in and out progresive scan pal and ntsc and all for app. £400

    Hello bobbles I read it in the june edition of Home cinema.There is even more, it is the worlds first recorder that supports divx both for recording and playback

    iT IS A SET TOP BOX. iT WAS ON SHOW AT THE CE BIT TECH. TRADE EX. IN HANOVER.I DONT THINK YOU WILL FIND IT ON THE WEB SITE YET. ALWYN.(I DO KNOW SOMEONE WHO IS TAKING ORDERS FOR THE ANTICIPATED LAUNCH IN JUNE)

    The dp550 will write to standard cd-r and cd-rw media a standard movie of near dvd quality can be recorded on a normal cd
    The dp550 olso supports the dvd -rw format plus mpeg 2 and mpeg 4

    Div x on the fly that wil be an interesting bit of kit. If they say August it will probably be Christmas. Maybe I should wait a couple of months. Must be some trade off for quality. 5.1 takes up alot more room on the discs.

    It would be great to be able to record divx onto dvd-rw discs, lots of good quality recording per disc.

    I was thinking if hard disk version is on the way...and perhaps any pics cos the kiss web site does really mention it.

    And...since this is ground breaking is it possible the a sky-D tuner is on the cards:confused:

    kiss uses the sigma chip i think so it will be sigma's RIPOFF of xvid called RMP4, pretty good divx anyways
