Its the Denon i´ve got my eye on.

The price of 2600 quid is less than was first thought, still bloody expensive though!

They could add SACD as the the MPEG/DVD Audio chip they use can be enabled for SACD, the chip maker has been granted the license to use it.

They´ll have to get moving if they want to incorporate it!

    Have a look here

    http://www.dvdinsider.com/news/view.asp?ID=3478

and follow the link at the bottom to the chip manufacturers site.

Jase, I don't know if you read the AVS Forum, but they have a new member. A Denon rep called DenonJeff has been answering questions about the new range and the A1/5800 upgrade. Today he was asked this.

    Jeff,

Any news about the SACD support for the DVD-9000 that hinted on in several CES reports? I know from the another thread that the DAC's aren't DSD capable but the ones in the 5803 are, so i assume SACD support would mean sending it over the denon-link to the 5803...

    Filip

    This was his reply.

    Filip,

At present, meaning today, we are pleading the fifth on the SACD capabilities of the DVD-9000/AVR-5803 combination. We'll have to wait and see.

I don't think SACD for the DVD-A1 can be written off just yet!

    Cheers for that Tim.
